Vision Inspection Capabilities

  • Image Processing

Applied to improve image quality, enhance features of interest and reduce unwanted noise. Key processing includes Gray Level Transformation, Thresholding, Arithmetic & Logic Operation, Convolution, Morphology, Geometric Transformation, and Contouring.

  • Blob Analysis

Performs image segmentations and classifies decomposed objects. Characteristic of each object can be analyzed and measured. Various features that can be computed such as perimeter, diameter, position, size, and roundness.

  • Measurement

Provides various gauging features with robust sub-pixel accuracy and advance calibration. Gauging features include Point Location, Edge Fitting, Line & Rectangle Fitting, Circle Fitting and Wedge Fitting.

  • Shape Matching

Object recognition method using critical shape as identity to accurately identify similar objects. Usually capable of detecting even in scale and rotational condition. Commonly applied in high-speed object recognition where content of object can be flexible.

  • Color Processing

There are two main aspects of color imaging, one is color processing which handles Identification, Convolution, Morphology, and Pattern Matching. The other is colorimetric system support that is used to enhance contrast between colored elements.

  • Pattern Matching

Using a golden object as a template to match objects which the shape and content are 100% identical. Usually can handle certain scaling contrast, and rotational requirement. Uses correlation and measure discrepancies between pattern and target object.

  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Performs recognition of readable text by using full set of trainable fonts as a template. Trainable fonts include numerical, alphanumerical, and special characters. Usually focuses on readability of text rather than quality. This method is use in most text recognition detection such as date or running number verification.

  • Optical Character Verification (OCV)

Also known as mark verification, it is use to verify the printed mark and its quality. Technique uses are geometry pattern matching and template matching which require a predefined model. Suitable in most print or mark verification application.
